Together against Corona
Masa starts factory vaccinationsAndernach/Porta Westfalica 19 jun. 2021 - With the abolition of the general vaccination prioritization, vaccinations have also been possible in German companies since June 7, 2021. But the vaccine against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus is still in short supply. According to the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG), the initial quota for company and factory vaccinations in week 23 was 702,000 doses of Comirnaty® (Biontech / Pfizer).
More than 6100 company doctors had previously placed their orders. According to the BMG, only about 600,000 vaccine doses were available for week 24. In addition to Comirnaty®, the COVID-19 vaccine Janssen® (Johnson & Johnson) will be delivered in the following calendar weeks.
The fact that the employees of the machine building company Masa GmbH can take part in the vaccination campaign despite the shortage of vaccines is mainly thanks to the persistence and intensive efforts on the part of the management. "Every employee in our company received a vaccination offer at the Andernach location," emphasized Frank Reschke, Managing Director of Masa GmbH. "This is a great thing that leads to more security in the company and ultimately also in the population."
The starting shot for the inoculation at Masa GmbH commenced on June 19, 2021: Exactly 100 doses of the coveted mRNA-based vaccine Comirnaty® were waiting to be used at the Andernach site. To ensure that everything runs smoothly, three vaccination stations have been set up in the Masa canteen. Every 15 minutes the professional vaccination team led by Dr. med. Otmar Cramer quickly and easily administered 10 vaccine doses each. Afterwards, the freshly vaccinated people could fortify themselves with sandwiches, coffee and cold drinks.
Another 50 vaccine doses are announced for the Andernach site in the next few days. Depending on allocation and delivery, the vector vaccine Janssen® will also be inoculated at the Porta Westfalica site at a later date. The second vaccination with Comirnaty® is scheduled for mid-July 2021.
Frank Reschke was more than satisfied with the campaign: "100 people who wanted to be vaccinated received their first vaccination under professional conditions today. Therefor our thanks to Dr. med. Otmar Cramer and his vaccination team. With the factory vaccination, we were again able to make a small but very important contribution to combating the pandemic. The health of our employees always plays a major role, which is why carrying out the vaccination campaign was and is an absolute priority for us."
