  Modern production plants are characterized by a high level of automation with correspondingly high availability. The demands on the automation systems are growing due to the rapid technical change and increased market requirements. Therefore, upgrading your S5 control systems to S7 can be a wise step.

  Wide scope for plant extensions:

  Existing plants can be extended or modernized at any time when using S7 controls. An upgrade of the Cuber (servo drives) is possible as well as a conversion to the amplitude vibration. In combination with a drive modernization, a better productivity can be achieved.

  Up to date documentation:

  The S7 software provides excellent opportunities for product tracking / history, as well as for production statistics and protocols. Production data and statistics can be transferred to external systems during production. In contrast to S5, a virtually unlimited number of product recipes can be stored at S7. The documentation and wiring diagrams (E-Plan) are modern and adapted to modern software programs.

  Optimized remote maintenance / diagnosis:

  The installation of S7 controls leads to significantly more and better options for remote maintenance and diagnostics. Thus, for example, all frequency converters can be crosslinked. In the event of a malfunction, Masa can access these frequency converters by means of an online connection, problems can also be solved without a fitter intervention. The diagnosis of the S7-Profinet bus system is also convenient. Defective S7 modules or faulty bus cables can be found quickly and easily. The standstill times in the event of a malfunction can thus be significantly reduced.

  Availability of spare parts:

  Parts required for S5 controls (plug-in cards, CPU, input devices, etc.) are no longer available with us, so longer standstills are almost pre-programmed. In contrast, S7 controls use current components (sensors, frequency converters, servo controllers, PC / monitors), which can be procured at short notice. This significantly reduces downtime.
