High-performance aerated concrete plant for the production of reinforced elements in Southeast Asia
Masa concept successfully in usePorta Westfalica/Jiujiang 18 mars 2022 - After more than one year since commissioning, the investor of our autoclaved aerated concrete plant in Jiujiang (China) is very satisfied. We spoke to him in a short interview ...
Our VARIO PANEL concept for reinforced elements has been in use worldwide for many years. In Jiujiang, PR China, a Masa aerated concrete making plant that sets standards in all South East Asia has been taken into operation. With a capacity of 1440 m³ per day, the factory in Jiujiang has played in the first division right from the start and supplies the complete region with reinforced aerated concrete elements and blocks.
Mr Sun, the investor in this prestige plant, talks about his motives to carry out this project in cooperation with us:
Mr Sun, how did you come up with the idea to establish an aerated concrete making plant?
The demand for high-quality building materials is continuously growing in China, and we wanted to be able to manufacture high-quality reinforced elements beside the usual blocks. It becomes apparent now that this trend is going to last, and meanwhile, we almost only manufacture large-size reinforced elements.
Why did you choose Masa?
The answer is simple: Masa offered the most interesting concept in terms of profitability.
You mentioned that your range of products focussed on standard block products until a few years ago. With this plant, you invested in a comprehensive extension of your portfolio. How important was this step for you?
I can really call this a milestone for myself and my enterprise. Such a step has to be well-considered and thought out. This was the reason why I looked for a partner who does not only know about the design and manufacture of machines for such a large-scale project. One thing was particularly important to me: The complete process know-how had to be there! Masa gave me professionell advice in the planning phase already. This convinced me to hand my money to this team from Germany.
Engineering and technical advice are one thing. But how about service and spare parts supply? Germany is not just around the corner.
This is a reasonable question. Machines in 22/7 operation inevitably are subject to wear and tear; in the course of service measures, equipment has to be maintained and replaced. Masa give us advice regarding an economically reasonable selection of spare and wearing parts that we can order in advance and keep in stock here at our works. Just in case, we also have local contacts at Masa Tianjin, and the Masa Support is available anytime – directly or via the Remote Service. It is good to know that someone at the other end of the world solves your problems together with you.
This all sounds convincing. Nevertheless, there probably is a great difference between Asian suppliers and Masa in terms of prices. How do you handle this?
No doubt about that. The solution is a proper mix. The scope of supply for the whole project was divided between Masa and local suppliers. Essential components such as the cutting technology and the manipulators were supplied from Germany directly. The local scope of supply was exactly specified and designed by Masa. We built, approved and assembled these components locally with the help of Masa.
Altogether, the project resulted in an economically plannable overall package for us. This impression was confirmed more and more during the on-time realization of the project. Since its commissioning, the plant has been producing with reliable availability and the contractually promised performance characteristics in terms of product quality, availability and capacity.
Many thanks to the entire Masa team.
Thank you, Mr Sun.
