Masa as driver of innovation
Masa participate in the project "Concrete factory of the future"Andernach 30 May 2023 - In May 2021, IAB Weimar (Weimar Institute of Applied Construction Research) started the project "Concrete factory of the future".
Masa, together with numerous other suppliers and concrete factories, is part of this. This joint research project that is to end in September 2023 pursues the development of an expert system and a consulting tool for the manufacture of concrete goods and the improvement of processes in concrete factories. For this, technical contexts are combined with the view of the producing industries to gain knowledge for the industrial manufacture of concrete goods. A holistic analysis of the workability of concrete along the production sequence of a concrete factory in routine operation is carried out.
The determination of the interaction of the process-relevant parameters and the key factors for a high product quality and their impact on the complete industrial process shall lead to the generation of an expert system and a consulting tool. These can support concrete factories and their suppliers in their future strategic alignment and improvement of processes.
The planned expert system provides the manufacturing companies with a tool to master the complex challenges in the manufacture of concrete goods, based on the experience of all project partners. The quality management in the concrete factories is to be improved, and employees can profit from the collective knowledge which is documented in the expert system and the consulting tool. This helps to make production more efficient and to avoid mistakes.
IAB Weimar on a visit at Masa
The second workshop with members of IAB Weimar and the Technical Director of Masa, Mr Marcel Helsper, was held at the Masa production location in Andernach on 05.03.2023. On this occasion, main ideas were exchanged how to push digitalisation in the industry to provide competence for the future. This is intended to counteract skilled labour shortage and to plan resources better.
